Masked Carjacking… [VIDEO]
HYANNIS – One of the suspects was said to be masked when a terrified man reported a carjacking in the area of Fresh Holes Road early this morning.
As you will see and hear in the following video, at about 12:18AM, Route 28 and Bearses Way was swarming with staties and Barnstable squad cars looking for robbery suspects.
The victim was reportedly paying a late night visit to the area when two, possibly three suspects jumped him, took his keys and car, and chased him from the neighborhood.
Police responded to the Route 28 entrance to the Cape Cod Mall where the victim had made contact with Mall Security. The victim was sitting in the front passenger seat of a security vehicle when Barnstable Police arrived on scene.
The stolen vehicle was quickly located unoccupied about a block from where it had been taken.
State troopers also responded and assisted with the search and investigation.
There were traffic stops, and at least one vehicle was suspected of possibly being in the area to help the suspects escape. Three minors and an SUV were taken back to BPD Headquarters for further investigation…
The suspects were not said to be armed.
According to Barnstable Police sources, they are currently in the process of taking out felony warrants for two individuals. HN is withholding the suspect’s identities for the time being.
The following video highlights a quick response and very active investigation. HN will provide additional details at the appropriate time. NOTE: The video switches from HN dashcam footage to high definition cameras.
