Men left fish guts on shopkeeper’s doorstep… [Review of this week’s photos]
HYANNIS – Police responded to the Five Below store near Kmart at about 6pm yesterday after a shopkeeper discovered four men had just left fish guts on her doorstep.
According to sources, the four men had somehow obtained a quantity of discarded fish carcasses from one of the local charter fishing boats.
The men took the fish to a parking lot next to Kmart where all four planned to salvage meat off the discarded carcasses. Apparently the people who originally cleaned the fish left a lot of meat on the bone.
One man went inside Kmart for fish cleaning supplies, returning with a scaler and fillet knife.
The men then took turns cleaning the carcasses on the side doorstep of the Five Below store.
Once cleaned of the leftover meat, the remains were tossed in the store’s dumpster.
The men were just about to get in their car and leave when a shopkeeper came out the door and discovered the smelly mess. Policed were nearby and arrived quickly after she called and complained about the slippery oily fish entrails left behind by the four men.
The shopkeeper wasn’t happy and gave the men a piece of her mind, insisting they bring back cleaning supplies and remove the blood.
Police stood by to keep the peace while one of the men ran back inside Kmart to purchase spray detergent, jugs of water, and 8 rolls of paper towels.
The mess was cleaned up and peace was restored.
The men left the property with the leftover fish meat and cleaning supplies.
