MYSTERY CRASH: Route 28 closed after rollover… driver still not found… [VIDEO]
WEST YARMOUTH – At about 1:30AM, Yarmouth police and firefighters responded to a rollover accident on Route 28.
It was like a strange scene right out of the 1980s… a 1987 Ford Bronco on its roof in the middle of Route 28. A vehicle manufactured long before mandatory airbags and modern safety equipment. Under the circumstances, and at first glance, it appeared to be a fatal crash…
The condition of the bent and twisted metal, along with the jagged bits and pieces of glass and whatnot, indicated there should be blood and gore…
… but there wasn’t.
In fact, the driver was nowhere to be found.
A police K-9 was called, and a brief track seemed promising at first, but the scent disappeared about a block into the search.
Police scoured the immediate area in case a body had been ejected…
… yet nobody was found.
To make things even more out of the ordinary, the Bronco is registered to an individual in Colorado, and there was no evidence of local connections…
Route 28 needed to be completely closed down between 1:36AM and about 3:00AM, while police tried to piece things together.
The accident remains a mystery.
