OSTERVILLE – The crash was reported shortly after midnight on West Bay Road, near the intersection with 1st Ave. A high tension electrical pole was snapped. Power outages were reported in area. Upon arrival, first responders found a pickup truck resting on its side. The driver was given a portable breathalyzer test before being placed onto stretcher and transported to Cape Cod Hospital… the extent of his injuries is unknown at the time of this report.

HN has learned the driver, who was still being treated at CCH at the time of this report, will be summonsed into court on the criminal charge of Operating Under the Influence.

At 2:30 a.m., crews were still on scene repairing the utility pole…
