OVERDOSES: Another life saved with Narcan… PLUS: A good old fashioned morning warrant sweep…
HYANNIS – Police and firefighters responded to several overdoses in the mid-Cape area last evening.
There was pouring rain…
At the time of the above photo, which shows firefighters carrying the once unresponsive male overdose patient down a flight of outside stairs at the Hyannis Host Inn (formally the Rodeway Inn), Yarmouth police and rescue were also responding to another overdose in a hotel room near the Barnstable town line in their town…
While typing this report, Mashpee first responders are dealing with an overdose in their town. Overdoses and deaths from drug abuse are ongoing and HN has noted it appears to come in waves.
But has the situation seen any improvement? It would be difficult to make the case that it has. HN has reached out to the BPD to see if their statistics indicate any sign of improvement. I will share those results as soon as they become available.

EARLY MORNING WARRANT SWEEP: Six hauled in by Yarmouth, Barnstable, and Massachusetts State police…
Nothing brings people together like a good old fashioned early morning warrant sweep.
Patrol officers, plainclothes officers, detectives, and members of the Massachusetts Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section joined forces and hit the road in the early morning of Thursday, October 1st, looking for individuals who were wanted on a wide range of charges.
Six were arrested in Yarmouth and Dennis on a total of 13 outstanding warrants and subsequently transported to either Orleans or Barnstable District Courts.
The following is a list of those arrested in the order of who had the most outstanding warrants:
1st place goes to Jason A. Sanders, age 40, of 29 Long Wood Ave in Onset. He was captured at 239 Great Western… with a grand total of 5 outstanding arrest warrants!
2nd place goes to Lisa Marie Fuller, age 37, of 7 Hyatts Circle in South Yarmouth. Fuller was at home when officials came to see her at 5:49AM. She had a grand total of 3 outstanding arrest warrants.
3rd place goes to Daniel T. O’Conner, age 36, of 24 Captain Besse Road in South Yarmouth. O’Conner also was at home when police came for him at 6:26AM. He only had 2 outstanding arrest warrants.
There was a three-way tie for 4th place. With each having just one outstanding arrest warrant…
Alan Joseph Carey, age 32, of 421 Route 28, Apt. #2-1, in Dennis was at home at 6:42AM when they came to get him.
Rachel Eldridge, age 26, of 58 Center Street in Dennis was not at home. Instead, she was picked up on Rogers Ave at about 7:03AM.
Congratulations and best of luck to everyone who participated…

HN NOTE: All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If found guilty, all will likely be given a good warm cuddle and slap on the wrist, only to be let right back out on our streets to rack up even more charges in time for the courts’ annual Christmas Season rush… (That’s the “HOLIDAY” rush for those who are perpetually offended…)
So stay tuned!
