Multiple sources tell HN that the man who was shot to death Wednesday morning next to an apartment building in Hyde Park is Jeffrey Randall, age 30, of Hyannis.
According to Boston Police, “at about 4:05AM on Wednesday September 30, 2015, Officers assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for a person shot at 493 Huntington Avenue in Hyde Park. On arrival, officers located a male victim of unknown race suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Family and friends of the victim were stunned by the news, expressing their grief on Facebook and in emails to HN. Several friends of Randall also reported having just seen him around Hyannis in recent days. They expressed disbelief and sadness from the sudden tragic news…
Randall grew up in Hyannis and had numerous friends in the area. He also struggled with a troubled past which included recent run-ins with the law.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the shooting.
