HYANNIS – Blizzard conditions and old trees can cause a lot of problems, and those with Hytonian roots know all about it.
When old trees grow tall again, we know we’re due for a storm that will either trim their tops, or otherwise take some down completely.
As was the story last evening when the storm took down an old timer at the corner of Oak Neck Road and Sea Street.
It was a tree that has been around for generations, dating back to simpler times in that particular neighborhood.
Some could argue it died from sorrow, but that would be ridiculous; it was the wind; nothing more; nothing less.
And there were many other trees and limbs which suddenly came down last evening, knocking out power and blocking roadways. But that’s hardly news for the weathered survivors of Hytown, we just sort of clean up the mess and get on with it… 🙂
