PROFILES IN CONSIDERATION: Shoplifters left at least two forms of ID behind for cops…
HYANNIS – At about 10:20pm last evening, Barnstable Police responded the Cumberland Farms on Route 132 near the intersection of Bearses Way for a theft which had just occurred.
According to sources, a white female, described as being in her 40s, entered “Cumbies” with a white male, also described as being in his 40s.
The pair had just parked their mini-style white car in the handicap space in front of the store. (The vehicle was described as possibly being a Ford Fiesta or some similar smaller car…)
The woman was said to have grocery shopped for about 15 minutes, while the male went back and forth between inside the store and the car…
After gathering at least $100 in groceries, the pair took off without paying.
But the woman somehow managed to leave behind several IDs near the checkout counter. One source believes she may have been under the influence of narcotics while she gathered and place items on the same counter – it is believed she simply lost track of all her stuff.
Police were grateful.
When the investigating officer arrived he was given the suspects IDs, which included a Georgia Department of Corrections “Offender” I.D., along with an EBT card and some other identifiers…
Police investigated a local hotel but were unable to locate the suspects.
The investigation is ongoing… and no further information was available at the time of this report.
Stay tuned as the dragnet continues…

An ambulance already had a patient on board when they discovered a collision involving a plow truck and passenger vehicle…

HYANNIS – At about 11:09pm last evening, a Hyannis rescue unit was pulling out of the Pavilion onto Route 28 with a patient they were taking to CCH, when they discovered an accident…
The patient in the back of the ambulance was considered to be stable and rescue workers felt the accident required their immediate attention.
The Hyannis rescue workers contacted police, while quickly evaluating the passengers involved in the collision. They also directed traffic and warned approaching motorists with their emergency lights until police cars could secure the scene.
Nobody was injured in the collision. But the passengers, including a young child, were put out in the cold on the side of the road while their vehicle needed to be towed from the scene. The temperature at the time of the accident was 4 degrees Fahrenheit… wind chill much lower… it was chilly.
Police stood by until everyone was safely off the roadway and out of the cold.
