Samurai sword used during bloody domestic altercation… [UPDATED]

HYANNIS – Because of the amount of blood, first responders initially thought a man had been stabbed in the neck with a sword this morning at 31 Woodbury Ave.
It turned out to be a laceration on just his hand from his own samurai sword. He allegedly had been fighting with his girlfriend and was threatening her with the sword.
Initially, police brought in a K-9 unit to track the female because they were being told she had been the one who stabbed the boyfriend. Upon further investigation, police believe it was the other way around.
At CCH, a source described the woman as being “pretty banged up.”
The male was charged with Domestic Assault and Battery, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon…
The male’s injuries were not considered life threatening.
[Because of new laws relating to domestic violence, police are usually unable to release the names of those involved.]
