Actual BPD Press Release:
At approximately 4pm on 10/14/14, Eastern Bank on Route 28 in Marstons Mills was robbed by a masked man brandishing a firearm. Barnstable Police Detectives began investigating the robbery and were soon joined by Sandwich Detectives who were actively investigating a similar bank robbery that had occurred in their town on October 3rd. 22 Year Old Brendan Millham of Sandwich was soon developed as a suspect. Millham had been in the Eastern bank several hours earlier acting suspiciously and had left the area in a black Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
Surveillance was then set up on Millham’s Tacoma pickup truck at a residential address on Route 130 in Sandwich. Millham was then followed by Barnstable Detectives and Barnstable Street Crimes Officers to the CVS parking lot on Route 6A in Sandwich. While parked in the CVS lot, detectives observed Millham actively injecting heroin while sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. Sandwich patrol units responded and Millham was subsequently arrested regarding the heroin possession. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Millham was in possession of a large amount of US Currency that was determined to be from the Eastern Bank robbery earlier in the day.
Detectives then re established surveillance at the Route 130 Sandwich address that Millham had been at earlier. At approximately 3am on 10/15/14, 23 year old Kyle Marrs returned to his apartment and was encountered by Barnstable Detectives and Street Crime Officers. Marrs willingly returned to the Barnstable Police station and was also found to be in possession of US Currency from the Eastern Bank. Marrs subsequently confessed to his involvement in the Eastern Bank robbery.
A search warrant was executed at Marrs’ apartment and the mask, clothing, and the loaded Glock 17 handgun used in the Eastern Bank robbery were recovered. Barnstable and Sandwich detectives then interviewed Millham and he confessed to being the masked robber at the Eastern Bank on the previous day.
Brendan E. Millham was charged with Armed Robbery While Masked, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin).
Kyle Marrs was charged with Armed Robbery While Masked.
Both suspects were arraigned in Barnstable District Court on 10/15/14 and held on $50,000 bail.

Initial HN coverage and video from 10/14/2014:
MARSTONS MILLS – Police are definitely considering whether or not today’s masked armed robber is the same man who robbed a Sandwich bank less than two weeks ago.
At about 4pm, multiple agencies rushed to the Eastern Bank on Route 28 after receiving a holdup alarm and reports it had just been robbed.
The suspect reportedly entered wearing a ‘skeleton’ mask, dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, and wearing black pants.
The suspect reportedly brandished a handgun and ordered everyone to get down on the floor and stay there.
Police reportedly received a phone call from one of the bank employees while she was still down on the floor. While officers rushed to the scene, there was still some question as to whether the robber was still inside the bank or not.
When officers arrived on scene they learned the robber had already fled the area…
A police K-9 unit immediately responded from Yarmouth and hit the ground tracking. The K-9 officer was fairly certain the robber had scaled a large stone wall while escaping. The stone wall was processed for impressions with a special dusting solution which enhances porous surfaces…
Barnstable Police, Yarmouth Police K-9, Massachusetts State Police, and the FBI all responded to assist…
Detective Labor of the Barnstable Police is leading the investigation according to sources…
Investigators looked into the possibility of video images of the suspect from cameras at neighboring businesses.
Investigators spent well over two hours on scene processing evidence.
The investigation is still very active and ongoing…
HN will provide updates as they become available.
On 10/3/14 at 11:41 AM the Sandwich Police received several 911 calls reporting an armed robbery at the Rockland Trust Bank on Cotuit Road Sandwich. The suspect entered the bank wearing a skeleton style Halloween mask and displayed a black semi-automatic pistol. The suspect then ordered all employees and customers inside the bank to the floor. He then grabbed an undetermined amount of cash and fled out the front door… [Click here for the full Sandwich PD press release]
