SMOKED OUT: Tap City Grille patrons endure brief suppertime evacuation… [VIDEO]
HYANNIS – Tap City Grill patrons patiently waited outside when creosote build up in an oven’s chimney caused smoke to back up into the restaurant.
At about 5:50PM, Hyannis Firefighters responded to the Tap City Grill on Main Street for what was initially described as a small kitchen fire. Firefighters climbed onto the roof to investigate one of the oven chimneys while patrons patiently waited outside.
A stove needed to be shut down for the evening and until the creosote build up could be removed.
The restaurant was able to remain open and patrons reentered after about a 15 to 20 minute wait.
