SOBERING VIDEO: Puppy appeared worried as owner was arrested for OUI…
HYANNIS – At about 1:50pm yesterday, police received a tip that an intoxicated man was trying to drive away in a Toyota Forerunner.
A witness also reported the full-size SUV had hit a building while attempting to back out of a parking space to the rear of the Bangkok Kitchen on Barnstable Road.
A Barnstable Police Sergeant and patrolman arrived quickly to prevent the driver from aiming his large vehicle out onto busy Barnstable Road.
The patrolman administered field sobriety tests, while the sergeant looked after a puppy that was a passenger while the driver was attempting to enter traffic.
Aaron Pollock, age 29, of Hyannis was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence of alcohol. He was transported back to BPD Headquarters for booking and processing.
The puppy was taken into custody by Animal Control Officer Charlie Lewis. According to sources, the dog’s owner may be able to retrieve his dog as early as today.
Police collected beer and hard liquor from inside the vehicle and secured it as evidence.
