SUSPICIOUS TV PEDDLER: Woman riding bike trying to sell flat screen TV at 1:43 AM… fell off bike… story full of inconsistencies… but hey, it could all be perfectly legit! Right? [HN VIDEO]
HYANNIS – “Her unusual story was full of inconsistencies,” is perhaps the nicest and most polite way to say it…
… and while watching the following HN Video it’s important to remember that all nighttime TV peddlers are presumed innocent until charged and proven guilty in a court of law.
I was reading the online funny pages when alerted by the HN News Mutt (in training) to the woman who had just fallen off her bicycle at the intersection of Route 28 and Hinckley Road.
I looked up in time to notice her picking up her bike, along with a flat screen TV set.
It was about 1:43 AM, and another witness to her fall mentioned she had just tried to sell him the flat-screen TV.
Did I mention that it was 1:43 AM?
Police were notified and quickly caught up to her.
She told officers her address was 95 Chase Street, which is “Homeless Not Hopeless,” a controversial group home for homeless women. Police went to 95 Chase Street during their investigation and learned she actually no longer lived there, and that she recently moved to another nearby Chase Street address.
Police took her name and documented everything as part of their investigation. There was no arrest because it’s not illegal to ride around town on a bicycle trying to sell a flat-screen TV…
… even if it is 1:43 AM.
The woman ended up asking officers, “Why would I lie?”
And HN does not know anyone on the planet (except perhaps the nighttime TV peddler) who can definitively answer that question right now.
The following HN Video is intentionally obscured at times…
… according to sources, the police have yet to see the receipt.
