Police quickly closed down Route 28 to all traffic in both directions from Osterville – West Barnstable Road to Lumbert Mill Road for approximately 45 minutes…
According to a COMM FD official, 4 people were transported to Cape Cod Hostpital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries…
According to witnesses, one of the injured had severe lacerations to his head… others complained of back pain and other trauma…
All three vehicles needed to be towed from the scene… a pickup truck had completely left the roadway and wound up amongst trees in a roadside wooded area…
Speed may have been a factor in the cause of the accident, according to sources…
The accident remains under investigation by the Barnstable Police Department…
