TRAGIC CAR WRECK: Young Marstons Mills man killed in early morning crash…
COTUIT – For one Barnstable Police veteran with about 30 years on the job, it had to be one of the worst he had ever rolled up on…
… a single car crash which claimed the life of a young Marstons Mills man.
At about 3:40AM this morning, the first patrol officers arrived at the Main Street scene, discovering what can be seen in the above photos, a 1998 Lexus completely torn apart, with a young man in the wreckage. Rescuers did not use the jaw of life and the above images starkly illustrate the force behind the crash.
The victim, and sole occupant of the vehicle, has been identified as 21-year-old William O’Keefe-Hoeck of Marstons Mills.
Rescuers reportedly worked on the victim at the scene and then transported him to CCH where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation… and police will be trying to find out what caused the car to leave the roadway and strike the tree…
Please keep the victim’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
