WAREHAM TRAILER PARK CAPER: Onset man accused of driving drunk with small children in the car…
WAREHAM – At about 5:00PM on Monday, June 18th, Wareham police officers responded to the Lakeside Trailer Park after receiving a report of an intoxicated male driving with small children in the car.
According to a WPD press statement, Sergeant Peter Flannery arrived and observed the vehicle in question with a total of three children inside.
The vehicle reportedly pulled into trailer lot # 9, where a female began quickly removing the children from the car right as the drunk driving suspect was observed “exiting the driver’s seat.”
The driver, identified as James Minta, allegedly failed field sobriety tests administered by Wareham Police Officer Michael Phinney.
Minta was arrested and transported to Wareham Police Headquarters where he was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, 3 counts of Child Endangerment while Operating Under the Influence, along with Operating after Suspension…
The children were reportedly not injured.
The “Department of Children and Families” was notified regarding the situation.
Minta was held overnight by the Wareham Police pending his arraignment which was scheduled for Tuesday morning in Wareham District Court.
The WPD press statement did not mention whether Minta or the female at trailer lot # 9 were related to the small children… or not…
