Unwelcomed man at Kennedy Compound… [Video]
Hyannis Port – An unwelcomed man showed up at the Kennedy Compound earlier this afternoon.
According the police radio, the man was locked inside a van and would not open the door for security.
The van was parked in Ethel Kennedy’s driveway.
Multiple Barnstable Police squad cars rushed to Marchant Ave in Hyannis Port.
Ethel Kennedy was not home… but her secretary was reportedly nearby and also rushed to the area.
Police managed to get the man to exit the vehicle and talk.
According to police radio chatter, the man had a court order requiring him to get medical attention for mental health issues. The man was said to possibly be a paranoid schizophrenic with violent tendencies. The order was issued after he stopped taking his medication.
It is still uncertain why the man wound up in Ethel Kennedy’s driveway or if he thought she was at home.
Hyannis Rescue was summoned to the scene. The man was escorted by police into the back of rescue and transported to Cape Cod Hospital.
Two Barnstable police cruisers followed the ambulance to CCH.
