[VIDEO] Suspect arrested for OUI after syringes found at head-on collision… Route 28 needed to be completely closed down…
WEST YARMOUTH – Route 28 needed to be completely shut down for about 40 minutes last evening after a head-on collision with injuries.
At least one patient was taken to CCH with injuries which were not life-threatening.
At about 7:45PM last evening, police and firefighters rushed to Route 28 in front of the Travelodge Hotel for an accident involving three vehicles. The two vehicles which went head-on were heavily damaged with airbag deployment.
As you will hear in the following radio transmissions, police received a call from the operator of the third vehicle. He was calling 911 to report that the driver just ahead of him was all over the road… the crash happened and the caller reported being the third vehicle involved. His vehicle sustained the least amount of damage.
As you will see in the video, a plainclothes member of the Yarmouth Police PAC unit observed one of the operators standing near a syringe. Officers also located at another syringe.
According to sources, the driver in the above photo was transported to CCH to be treated for a facial laceration… he was eventually reportedly charged with Operating Under the Influence of drugs…
No further details were available at the time of this report. The accident is being investigated by the Yarmouth Police Department.
