VOLATILE VIDEO: Police arrest Hyannis man who allegedly punched 8-month pregnant woman in face, sending her to CCH…
HYANNIS – DEVELOPING – At about 6:53PM, police responded to 156 Main Street for a report that a man had just punched an 8-month pregnant woman in the face.
When they arrived, and as you will see in the following video, the suspect was still very agitated and combative.
Police were listening to the pregnant woman when the alleged suspect came storming out the house. Officers repeatedly told him to go back inside, but he did not appear to be hearing them. At one point, a patrolman approached the suspect as his behavior appeared to be escalating. Police needed to take him to the ground in order to get him under control and secured in handcuffs.
The suspect has been identified as Craig Govoni of Hyannis. At this point it appears police will be charging him with the felony of A&B on a Pregnant Woman.
According to a source, Govoni missed on his first swing, but connected on the second, allegedly punching the pregnant woman in the eye with his closed fist.
The victim was taken to CCH with facial bruises and a ‘black eye.’ The condition of the battered woman and her unborn baby were unknown at the time of this report.
Police are at CCH taking photos of the victim’s wounds and the investigation is ongoing…
The following video highlights a volatile scene which ultimately led to Govoni being hauled off to jail. HN will update this story as additional details become available…
