*** WATCH *** 27-YEAR-OLD ECUADORIAN ESCAPES INJURY AFTER HIGHWAY SPIN-OUT IN YARMOUTH… EASTHAM FIREFIGHERS STOP TO ASSIST…
YARMOUTH, Massachusetts – As you will hear in the following HN Video, a 27-year-old Ecuadorian male (apparently here visiting) escaped injury after striking a guardrail and spinning out of control on the Mid-Cape Highway this morning. The single vehicle crash happened at around 12:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of Route 6, just prior to Exit 75 (the old Exit 8). The driver presented an Ecuadorian passport for identification. He was evaluated by Eastham EMTs and refused further medical care.
Debris from the crash was scattered across all travel lanes and traffic needed to be slowed to a narrowed left lane while first responders worked the scene. A guardrail was left in need of repair. It took first responders about half an hour to clean up and reopen both lanes.
A state trooper gave the young man a courtesy ride to a residence in Dennis. The MSP is investigating the cause of the crash.
