WEST BARNSTABLE – Barnstable Police responded to the Burger King parking lot near the entrance to Route 6 last evening to investigate a disabled vehicle (around 11pm). While en route, officers were told a new story by the initial caller, that the vehicle had been involved in a crash. Upon arrival, a male was taken into protective custody for intoxication. The crash is believed to have happened on the westbound ramp to Route 6. Traffic signs were knocked down. The man in protective custody was not being cooperative with officers, according to radio transmissions. He claimed the damaged vehicle was being driven by his friend at the time of the crash… but he was unable to provide officers with a name for that friend.
