YARMOUTH PD MEDIA STATEMENT: “FATAL SINGLE CAR CRASH”
WEST YARMOUTH, Mass. – Shortly after 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning, Yarmouth Police received a 911 call reporting a single car crash into a tree with air bag deployment on Willow Street, in the area of Eversource.
Officers arrived and located a heavily damaged Kia Sportage on the northbound shoulder. Initial indications were the vehicle was traveling South at a high speed on Willow Street prior to the crash. A single occupant was in the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
A portion of Willow Street was shut down for approximately three hours while investigators processed the crash. The family of the deceased has been notified.
Yarmouth Police and the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Unit are investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 508-775-0445.
