*** WATCH *** DRIVER EXTRICATED FROM UNDERNEATH VEHICLE AFTER LANDING IN GULLY
BOURNE – According Deputy Chief Ryan Haden of the Bourne Fire Department, a driver suffered life-threatening injuries after a vehicle apparently crashed through a utility pole, went over a guardrail, and eventually landed on its roof in a gully, with the driver trapped underneath. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
As you will see in the following HN Video, at around 9:40 p.m. last evening – Sunday, December 11, 2022 – Bourne police and firefighters responded to the area of 149 County Road for a report of the crash. Firefighters quickly stabilized the overturned vehicle, and used the Jaws of Life and other tools to help free the victim.
All Medflight helicopters were grounded at the time of the crash due to bad weather, and the patient needed to be transported via ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.
Official details regarding the patient’s age, identity, and current condition were unknown at the time of this report.
The Bourne Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
