*** WATCH *** EMPLOYEE ACCIDENTLY CRASHES CAR INTO WALK-IN FREEZER AT JAKE ROONEY’S
HARWICH PORT – Police and firefighters rushed to the Jake Rooney’s restaurant at about 11pm last evening, for a report that a car had crashed into the building. An employee of the restaurant accidently crashed a red Toyota Camery into the outside doors leading into a walk-in freezer, according to sources. The driver was evaluated by Harwich Rescue but had no apparent injuries. The police are investigating the crash as accidental. There does not appear to be structural damage to the establishment, but the building inspector was notified. The Harwich Board of Health was also notified for assistance, according to radio transmissions. The concern was reportedly over the damaged freezer and its contents. Walk-in freezers are expensive, and the restaurant is right in the middle of their busy season. The following HN Video highlights last evening’s crash scene.
