SANDWICH – Firefighters were nearby at their station house when the call came in sometime after 10pm last evening. Heavy fire was showing on the C & D sides of the Shipwreck Ice Cream shop located at number 2 Freezer Road. Thanks to the rapid response, firefighters were able to quickly knock down the exterior flames. The following video begins with an interview with Chief John Burke of the Sandwich Fire Department. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire was still under investigation at the time of this report.
