*** WATCH *** Hit-and-run suspect loses wheel, continues to flee on foot…
YARMOUTH PORT – Police were on scene at around 5:30 p.m. today, investigating a hit-and-run crash that reportedly happened in the parking lot of Peterson’s Market at 918 Rte. 6A. According to sources, the driver of the pickup was fleeing the crash scene when a wheel fell off of his truck, disabling it on Rte. 6A near the parking lot exit. The driver didn’t stop there… and it’s alleged he then took off from the scene on foot. Officers reportedly have a good idea who the suspect is, thanks to the cooperation of another occupant of the truck who remained on scene. At the time of this report, it was unknown if officers had located the fleeing driver or not. The disabled truck caused delays in both directions along busy Rte. 6A.
