HN NOTE: HN is currently taking a brief “sabbatical” (or vacation), resting up and re-tooling for the late summer into the fall and winter (fall and winter typically being our busiest time). For the time being, it has been very nice walking and driving the downtown streets without the constant noise of police and fire radios. Because HN typically works the overnights, gathering footage for the TV news markets and HyannisNews.com, much of the content tends to focus on emergencies, including crime scenes. This brief time off has been an opportunity to recharge and to enjoy the more pleasant things that Cape Cod has to offer.
HN plans on heading back to work later this month to what is expected to be a very busy news cycle. We listen to seven radios, along with other sources. Our range is from Provincetown to Plymouth, depending on traffic conditions and the importance of the story. Cape Cod is a city. And we cover the news of this city. Hyannis, in my view, is the hub of it all. The mission of HN is to make sure everyone is well informed regarding our ongoing challenges and realities. Powerful images work. HN content is for news consumers who can boldly face some of our starkest realities. With awareness we can make improvements and save lives.
Also, please don’t forget to leave a little tip if you’ve consumed and appreciated HN breaking news over the past decade. Many major stories would have gone ignored if my dog (Arya) and I had not been out there all night. And besides, my dog and I could use a little something for our anticipated old age. (And we’ve put the time in… our joints can still feel every one of those hard stories and long nights).
