*** WATCH *** MALE ARRESTED FOR UNLICENSED POSSESSION OF HANDGUN DURING HYANNIS TRAFFIC STOP
HYANNIS – Shortly prior to 11pm last evening, a Barnstable Police patrolman initiated a traffic stop on Bearses Way, right across from U-Haul. The patrolman requested backup just moments into the stop. The patrolman then asked dispatch to run a male through the computer to see if he had a License to Carry firearms. The male was unlicensed and was subsequently arrested for allegedly being in possession of a handgun recovered on scene. The pistol was photographed and secured as evidence. A second male was detained in handcuffs when HN arrived on scene. The second male was eventually removed from handcuffs and permitted to drive away in the vehicle which had been pulled over during the initial traffic stop.
