“Well morning comes and you’re still with her
And the bus and the tourists are gone
And you’ve thrown away your choice and lost your ticket
So you have to stay on…”

CENTERVILLE – The driver of what was described as a white Ford van left a very long skid mark prior to crashing into the fork in the road at the intersection of South Main Street and Pine Street shortly after midnight last evening. Signs and shrubbery were destroyed. The driver fled the scene in the white van, but left behind a license plate as sort of a “calling card.” Officers checked local addresses related to the registered owner, including one on Ocean Street in Hyannis, but were unable to locate the vehicle. HN PHOTOS: Officers break up testy males fighting and kicking one another…
HYANNIS – [HN NOTES & MULLINGS ON THE MATTER] – Nothing punctuates the end of summer like a street fight at bar closing, as was the case early Saturday morning, at the intersection of Main Street and Barnstable Road. Except nowadays, the young drunken males apparently kick one another instead of settling their unintelligible, drunken bullshit with fisticuffs… and then, when the cops finally break things up, they mouth off to them like petulant schoolboys. Times have certainly changed… and it’s annoying, but at least nobody was stabbed… (and I suppose we should all be grateful for that…)
… but one of the alleged sidewalk kick-fighters did find himself charged with Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (shod foot), according to radio traffic, which is a felony charge. And another sidewalk warrior was checked out by Hyannis FD Rescue for minor injuries received during the fray.
Alcohol consumption was believed to have been a factor.
