HN VIDEO: What would you do if someone was following and flashing lights at you on the highway?
HYANNIS – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, a woman called state troopers and Barnstable Police Officers last evening after she became concerned about a vehicle following and flashing its headlights at her on Route 6.
According to radio transmissions, the vehicle had been following her since she crossed over the bridge onto the Cape.
What would you do in that situation?
The woman did the right thing by calling police and then driving toward the Barnstable Police Department once she got off the highway at Exit 6…
… but that didn’t stop the driver of the other vehicle from following her all the way into the visitor parking lot of Barnstable Police Headquarters, where patrol units stopped the male driver and had a word…
It’s uncertain what actually caused the male driver to behave the way he did (whether or not it was an all too common case of road rage, etc…), but officers and troopers had a nice long chat with the man before noting his information and sending him on his way.
HN NOTE: If you feel you are being followed, call 911 and stay on the line with officers while carefully driving directly toward your nearest police department.
