HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] – According to police radio transmissions, one of the suspects pulled the trigger, the pistol “sounded off,” but didn’t fire a bullet… which led the clerk to believe it may have been a “cap gun…”
At about 8:40PM this evening, Barnstable Police squad cars responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Willow Tree Market on Charles Street.
As you will hear in the following police audio, two suspects fled the area on foot after reportedly brandishing a pistol…
A K-9 unit responded as patrol cars saturated the surrounding streets.
According to initial radio transmissions, one suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5’5” … the second suspect was described a light skinned black male, approximately 6 feet tall.
The Barnstable Police detective and patrol divisions are actively investigating. There’s no further information at this time. HN will provide updates as they become available.
