HN VIDEO: Yarmouth Firefighters quickly knock down electrical fire inside the 99 Restaurant…
WEST YARMOUTH – The first Yarmouth engine crew on scene found an active electrical fire in the restaurant’s electrical room, knocking down the flames with carbon dioxide extinguishers.
The restaurant had been evacuated and employees sheltered themselves from the chilly winds inside their personal cars in the parking lot, waiting to see what would happen next.
The fire happened at about 3:30 p.m, with additional crews from Hyannis and Dennis arriving to assist.
Firefighters remained on scene checking for extension and ventilating smoke from the building.
Firefighters and the electrical inspector were still investigating the exact cause of the fire at the time of this report.
Power to restaurant needed to shut off by Eversource and as of 6:00 p.m. the establishment remained in complete darkness, with no signs of it opening back up this evening…
