*** WATCH *** THANKSGIVING DAY DISTURBANCE: Yarmouth Port woman arrested on Rte. 6 after allegedly biting a relative…
HN NOTES: HN was monitoring routine emergency calls in the mid-Cape area, at about 9:12 p.m. last evening, when there was a report of a person injured from an alleged human bite during some type of disturbance at a residence in Yarmouth Port.
According to radio traffic, a 30-year-old woman had bitten a family member and Yarmouth Rescue was responding to “stage” nearby to the residence until police could secure the scene.
Moments later, a Yarmouth Police patrol unit reported seeing the alleged biting suspect driving toward the highway at a high rate of speed. Responding Yarmouth Police cruisers eventually lost sight of the vehicle after it turned onto Rte. 6 westbound. Other police agencies, including the state police, were quickly notified about the situation.
A short time later, a Barnstable Police patrolman reported that he was with the vehicle stopped in a mid-Cape highway travel lane between Exits 6 and 5, westbound. At first the officer thought the vehicle may have been involved in a crash… but it allegedly turned out to be just stopped there in the middle of the highway, and there had not been a crash after all, according to radio transmissions.
Additional police units, including state police, Barnstable Police and Yarmouth Police responded to the traffic stop where the female was taken into custody on charges related to domestic violence, according to radio transmissions. The suspect in this case is also possibly looking at additional charges…
Although the incident initially drew a large police response, it ultimately ended without anyone else being injured.
Because this is a domestic incident with possible other factors involved, additional details are being withheld at the time of this report.
The following HN Video, however, highlights a very volatile situation that thankfully ended peacefully without others being hurt.
