YPD: Police caught up to wanted Brewster woman in Brockton…

UPDATE: The following is from the Yarmouth Police Department:

‘WANTED WEDNESDAY’ SUSPECT CAPTURED IN BROCKTON

On Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 11:10AM, Police Officer Christopher Perez and Police Officer Edward Newcomb III of the Brockton Police Department were patrolling together in the northwest sector of the city and encountered a suspicious motor vehicle in the parking lot of the Super 8 hotel at the Westgate Mall.

The Police Officers found Jessica Calkins—who was recently featured as a wanted person as part of our weekly Wanted Wednesday—sitting in the passenger seat of motor vehicle. At first, Jessica lied and gave a false name of Sarah Calkins. Upon further investigation, the Police Officers discovered Jessica’s true identity and she was placed under arrest on default warrants from the Yarmouth Police Department and subsequently transported to Brockton District Court.

There are hundreds of people who have active arrest warrants and our ‘Wanted Wednesday’ community policing program is highly successful in tracking them down. In partnership with our citizens and fellow members of Law Enforcement, we have made arrests of suspects wanted by the Yarmouth Police Department all over Cape Cod and as far away as Florida.

We encourage anyone with a warrant for their arrest to turn themselves in immediately and avoid being featured in our weekly public announcements.

The YPD thanks the BPD for capturing Calkins and reminds everyone to be on the lookout for the announcement of our new ‘Wanted Wednesday’ person starting tomorrow morning!
