YPD Arrests Boston Couple for Cocaine Trafficking

On Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at approximately 4:10PM, Yarmouth Police Department Proactive-Anti Crime Unit Officer Nicholas Ambrosini was on patrol traveling east on RT28 behind MA registration 5EA394. On three separate occasions, Officer Ambrosini observed the driver’s side tires cross completely over the double yellow center line into the oncoming lane. Officer Ambrosini conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Route 28 in West Yarmouth and approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and identified the operator as Terrel Spencer.

A LEAPS inquiry showed Terrel’s license was suspended for 3 surchargeable events and he was placed under arrest. During a pat frisk, Officer Ambrosini located a small black knife clipped to Terrel’s front right pants pocket. Upon further examination, this knife was approximately 4″ long with a spring assisted blade of approximately 3.5″. Terrel was advised that this knife was illegal to carry due to the spring assisted blade.

Back up Patrol Officer Kevin Antonovitch arrived and identified the passenger as Kiana Freeman, who was found to have a warrant out of Quincy district for check forgery and uttering. Kiana was asked to step out of the vehicle where she was placed under arrest.

A tow truck was requested for the vehicle. Upon conducting a motor vehicle inventory, Officer Ambrosini and Antonovitch located a small clear sandwich baggie full of additional clear sandwich baggies in the center console as well as a clear knotted sandwich baggie containing a white powder.

The baggie was approximately the size of a golf ball. Also in the glove box was a small digital scale.

Upon further examination of the white powder, it had an approximate gross weight of 28.5 grams and tested positive for cocaine.

Both subjects were held at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and subsequently arraigned in the Barnstable District Court the next morning, paid a $1,000 cash bail each, and are out on bail pending the next court date.
