FROM THE YARMOUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT: MIDNIGHT SHIFT PATROL OFFICERS ARREST TWO MEN WITH FENTYNAL AND OTHER DRUGS
On Friday, March 29, 2019 at 2AM, Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officers Michael Cheung and Rick Aprea observed a suspicious gray Honda Civic motor vehicle at Thatcher Shore Park Beach in South Yarmouth well after the closing hours of 10PM.
Upon checking the vehicle they found two men inside using illegal drugs.
Patrol Officer Ryan Brule arrived as back up and the Officers observed drugs inside the vehicle and both men admitted that he had “shot up.’”
Both men were placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters
Found in the vehicle were pills, heron/fentanyl, dozens of brand new hypodermic needles, two blue rubber tie offs (one on each driver and passenger floor board), a gold colored bottle cap with a wire on it (makeshift spoon), and used and corner cut clear baggies.
Patrol Officer Chris Eccleston arrived on scene and remained with the vehicle as it was towed by Mid Cape Towing.
The Civilian Bail Commissioner was contacted and set bail at $340 for each.
Both men were held at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and will be arraigned in the Barnstable District Court today.
