Police take down armed bank robbery suspect…
Actual Bourne Police Department press release:
At approximately 1217 PM, the Bourne Police Department received an alarm from the TD Bank on Barlows Landing Rd in Pocasset. Dispatch confirmed with employees that a male had just entered the bank, brandished a firearm and demanded money from the tellers. The male then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers from the Bourne Police Department, MA State Police, and Barnstable County Sheriffs Office (including K-9 units), saturated the area. A witness reportedly observed the male flee to the wooded area near Commerce Park Rd. Officers encountered the male in the wooded area, still with the firearm and money in hand. After a short stand off, the male relinquished the weapon and was taken into custody without further incident. The firearm was determined to be a BB gun.
The male was identified as 57 year old Lewis Thomas Moses Jr. of 42 Maple St, Buzzards Bay, MA.
The Bourne Police Department would like to thank all agencies involved in the apprehension of Moses.
