HYANNIS — The following is the actual Barnstable Police press statement:
On Wednesday, 6/8/2016 at approximately 0220 hours Barnstable Police Patrol Division responded to the area of 215 Main St Hyannis for report of a male subject down with a severe head injury. Hyannis Fire personal also responded to the scene and transported the victim to Cape Cod Hospital for immediate medical treatment. The victim later [identified] as 20 year old from Hyannis, Ma was later Med Flighted to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston for a fractured skull was listed in critical but stable condition.
Further investigation by patrol officers along with Detective’s Ried Hall and Meaghan Cunningham, the actual crime scene was located in an apartment on Yarmouth Rd Hyannis. A suspect was also developed at this time, and identified as Richard F Weeks Jr 02/01/1970 of Hyannis, Ma. A Search Warrant was issued from the Barnstable District Court for the apartment and later executed by the Barnstable Police Detective Unit at the residence of Richard F Weeks Jr.
As the result of the Search Warrant and investiagtion Richard F Weeks Jr was arrested and charged with the following offenses;
1) Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon Chp. 265 Sec 15 A
2) Assault with intent to Murder Chp. 265 Sec 15
Richard F Weeks Jr is being held on $25,000 bail at the Barnstable Police Department pending his arraignment at the Barnstable District Court on Thursday June 9, 2016.
