Arrests made in first armed home invasion and stabbing of 2014… [Video] [Updated]
Afternoon Update:
According to BPD Sergeant Sean Sweeney, the victim, who was from Chatham, may have egged on one of the suspects by yelling into the phone something to the effect of ‘you want a piece of me!’ (a threat you might get away with in Chatham… but not in HyTown…) Things descended into a morning of violence and destruction from that point forward…
The following is the actual BPD press release:
Arpad P Voros jr 23 from Yarmouth & Ronald V. Roberts 26 from Hyannis were arrested for home invasion, assault & battery dangerous weapon and 3 counts of injury to real or personal property.
Roberts was texting his 19 year old ex-girlfriend by three months during the evening, at one point they had a conversation and the new boyfriend/victim, yells into the phone so Roberts can hear, some type of bravado challenge to Roberts. A short time later Roberts and Voros show up at the 19 year old ex-girlfriends house [on] Megan Rd Hyannis. At about 4:15 am 25 yr old victim and girlfriend are watching TV when they notice a car pull in to drive way.
A fight breaks out first outside between victim and Ronald Roberts. The 19 yr old female tries to get Ronald Roberts to leave however she is pinned by the throat against the car by Arpad Voros . The victim enters the house closes the door only to have it broken down by Roberts. The fight continues in the kitchen where victim gets stabbed in upper left back. The stab wound punctures and collapses his lung. Roberts and Voros along with a third person in the car flee.
A short time later Yarmouth Officers locate Roberts and Voros at Voros West Yarmouth home. Both were transported to Barnstable Police Department and were held on no bail. They will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court Thursday morning.
