Hyannis – Several Barnstable Police patrol vehicles rapidly responded to Ocean State Job Lot at 4:15pm today searching for a barefoot shoplifter who reportedly fled the scene after being confronted by store security.

Originally it was reported store security was with two female shoplifters, but suddenly one of the females became uncooperative due to a possible outstanding warrant… additional police officers took note and responded to the area.

The fleeing barefoot shoplifter was seen running in the direction of Staples wearing yellow pants.

Patrol cars and one police motorcycle arrived within moments and searched inside Staples, Kentucky Fried Chicken, local parking lots and backstreets… one officer even looked inside of all the greasy dumpsters in the area…

…nothing.

The barefoot shoplifter escaped this time.

Her ‘friend’ received a trespass notice.
