HN PHOTOS: Woman arrested for OUI after crash into trees…

BARNSTABLE – A patrolman came across the crash around 3:00 a.m. this morning on Phinney’s Lane, just north of the entrance to Hathaway’s Pond. The four door Nissan Versa was heavily damaged and officers were relieved to find all three passengers had made it out of the wreckage on their own.
Barnstable Rescue evaluated the passengers but nobody needed to be transported to the hospital.
After field sobriety testing, the female driver was placed under arrest for suspicion of Operating Under the Influence.
A member of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit took photos of the scene, while Barnstable Police Officers investigated the cause of the crash. It is believed excessive speed and impaired driving may have been factors. Police were also investigating the driver’s claims that she had swerved to avoid striking a deer in the roadway…
*All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law…
HN NOTE: It was nothing short of a miracle nobody was badly hurt…
