BE CAREFUL OUT THERE THIS WEEKEND: Two bicyclists hurt within half an hour of each other…

HYANNIS – Between 4:30PM and 4:55PM, Barnstable Police responded to two separate traffic accidents that left bicyclists injured in the roadway.
The first accident occurred near the intersection of Bearses Way and Route 132. A woman bicyclist was banged up after a collision with a Toyota, but was able to eventually stand and walk over to the awaiting ambulance. She was transported to CCH.
The second accident occurred on West Main Street near Steve & Sue’s Par-Tee Freeze. A young man was injured and needed to be taken CCH on a stretcher.
There have been a lot of accidents involving bicycles lately. Many of the injured bicyclists are from other countries and may not be completely aware of our traffic laws.
Please drive defensively.
HN would like to wish everyone a safe Fourth of July weekend…
and remember, if you happen to see me this weekend, you’re probably not having a good time.
Have fun, but please be sensible!
