As you will see in the following RAW VIDEO, at about 1:20AM, Barnstable Police and Hyannis Fire Department responded to a blaze in the middle of Yarmouth Road right near several car dealerships…
A full-size garbage truck burst into flames after a collision with a passenger vehicle.
Police and firefighters were very concerned about the fire spreading to some of the vehicles which were lining the roadway in front of the dealerships.
The driver of the passenger vehicle appeared to have a cut on his hand and was transported to CCH with injuries said to be non life-threatening…
Approximately two hours after the initial call, firefighters were still on scene dealing with hot spots and other issues.
Hazmat personnel were summoned to the scene… and a representative from the board of health was also on scene.
Police secured what appeared to be some type of evidence from the passenger vehicle. The accident is under investigation by the Barnstable Police Department.
UPDATE: Sources tell HN that because of fuel and other potentially hazardous materials being spilled, the Yarmouth Road could possibly be shut down or delayed for up to 8 hours or more…
