BOOZE CRUISE: Falmouth cops charge operator with drunk driving after crash ends at ocean’s edge…
FROM THE FALMOUTH PD: “Drunk Driver Crashes onto Beach”
Early Monday morning (1:01 am) a caller reported that a car had crashed onto the beach at the end of Maravista Ave. Officers arrived to find an unoccupied car at the water’s edge and the tide had started to flood the front of the vehicle. The operator and lone occupant of the car was located attempting to hide in an adjacent yard. Falmouth Fire & Rescue responded, however the operator refused treatment at the scene. An investigation revealed that the car traveled through the stop sign at the end of Maravista Ave., went across Menauhant Rd. and then proceeded another 100+ ft. on the beach before coming to a stop at the edge of the water. As a result, the operator was placed under arrest for OUI-Liquor (drunk driving), Operating to Endanger, Operating with a Suspended License, Speeding and a Marked Lanes Violation. It was also determined that a warrant had been issued for his arrest for Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Unregistered Motor Vehicle.
(Media statement does not identify the driver and contains no further details…)
