UPDATED: Armed masked robbery… YPD offers cash reward $$$
The following is a message from the Yarmouth Police Department:
HELP US ID THIS YARMOUTH PORT VILLAGE STORE ARMED ROBBER
This is the in-store camera photo of the suspect wanted for the armed robbery while masked violent crime that occurred at 8PM last evening on Route 6A in Yarmouth Port.
This suspect has not been arrested and is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about this suspect is urged to immediately contact the Yarmouth Police Department lead investigator Detective Stephen W. Renzi at 508.775.0445 extension 2118 or at srenzi@yarmouth.ma.us
A cash reward will be provided to the first person who provides information that leads to the successful prosecution of this suspect.
Most up-to-date description of the suspect (The investigation is ongoing and more details will be coming out as evidence is processed…) :
1. White male
2. 5’8″ to 5’10” tall … and heavy set.
3. Was relatively composed as he ordered witnesses to a room at the back of the store… (in other words, did not act crazed, overtly belligerent, or out-of-control under the circumstances…)
4. Brandished a handgun that was black in color…
5. Fled the store on foot… K-9 tracking efforts led police to the rear of the store…
6. Was wearing a black hoodie…
7. Was wearing a black ski mask…
8. There was no mention of an accent or distinctive speech identifiers at this time…
9. The store he chose has been robbed 3 to 4 times in recent years…
* Investigators are still processing evidence and are hopeful the incentive of a cash reward will help the right person to come forward with a lead that will speed up the capture of this individual.
** The suspect is still at large and is considered to be armed and dangerous…

Yarmouth Port – An armed white male wearing a black ski mask robbed the Yarmouth Port Village Store shortly before 8:15pm tonight.
The robber was said to be in possession of a black handgun.

Barnstable and State Police were also notified…

At least one Yarmouth K-9 unit and heavily armed back up officer searched the immediate area on foot…
The scene was still active and the manhunt ongoing as of 9:40pm…
