BREAKING: Roommate pulls knife on dog…
Hyannis – Barnstable Police responded to the James Stephen Resort Village apartments at 102 Route 28 this afternoon for a woman worried about her dog’s safety.

According to police radio traffic, the woman reported her roommate was threatening her dog with a knife.
Shortly after 5pm, officers on scene announced the suspect had left the area on foot towards East Main Street.
The suspect was quickly located and detained at Main Street and School Street.
Officer Troy Perry radioed that their was probable cause for arrest on felony charges; the suspect was quickly secured in handcuffs.

According to Officer Perry’s radio transmission, the suspect will likely be charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Cruelty to Animals, and A&B Domestic.

The suspect was transported to Barnstable Police Headquarters for booking.

Police needed to close down part of Greenwood Avenue shortly before 2pm, after a Scudder-Taylor box truck backed into unusually low hanging wires.

The driver told Hyannis News he was surprised to see a telephone pole suddenly fall across the street very near to where he was backing up.

According to a neighbor, the pole had already been leaning towards the road and was possibly rotted.
Power was lost in the area and a Nstar Electric crew was making their way to the scene.
