Update: According to police sources, the newspaper delivery person did remain on scene and can be seen in the video illuminating the victim with his headlights. Also, the woman’s injuries were considered minor.
CENTERVILLE – At about 5:35am, police and rescue received a call that a pedestrian had possibly been struck and was down in the roadway on Route 28 just east of the CVS.
When HN arrived, a passenger vehicle was stopped near to the stricken woman, illuminating her and shielding her from oncoming traffic…
According to sources, the woman usually waits in darkness to catch a bus to Falmouth every morning…
Rescue workers, initially thinking the worse, inquired and learned medflight was unavailable at the time of the accident… (possibly due weather conditions, but that hasn’t been confirmed…)
The good news is the woman was able to speak with rescue workers and answer their questions… her injuries turned out to be relatively minor according to sources….
She was transported to CCH after about 20 minutes laying in the cold wet roadway…
The following video highlights the scene as police and rescue arrive to help the victim… [HN note: video available in 1080p HD… Press play… select HD in settings…]
