Two sent to CCH after collision on 132… [VIDEO]
BARNSTABLE — Both drivers in last night’s two car collision on Route 132 needed to be transported to Cape Cod Hospital.
A retired Sandwich Firefighter came upon the scene prior to police and rescue, and immediately attended to one of the wounded drivers. The driver was complaining of neck pain and the retired firefighter stabilized the man’s neck until medics arrived. It is believed the force of the airbag may have also contributed to the driver’s neck pain.
The injuries to both drivers did not appear to be life-threatening, and one of the drivers was able to walk up into an ambulance on his own.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The following video highlights the scene which occurred at about 6:15PM. Traffic was reduced to one lane and commuters experienced delays.

NEW: “Government on Fast Forward… 3/9/2016”
The Town of Barnstable has two daily news programs entitled Barnstable Today and Barnstable This Morning. One program is 10 minutes, the other about an hour… both jammed-packed with our government’s own presentation of the news.
In this segment, HN took about 70 minutes of yesterday’s programing and condensed it down into one 24 minute video, where the dialogue is also placed on fast forward, making it easier and quicker for some viewers to get through it…
Today’s “Government on Fast Forward” highlights some interesting issues ranging from rumblings over a possible state plan to change the Cape’s highway exit numbering… town disaster planning… yoga classes… Contra dancing… to some excellent services for our elders….
The condensed video version may not be for everyone, some may find it difficult to follow, while others may find it just right. The slower, much longer, and more complete versions of these news shows can be found on the Town of Barnstable website…
From time to time, HN will experiment with condensing Town of Barnstable news content, presenting it here as an alternative or additional option for those who would never tune into the original programming on the town’s website to begin with…
The town spends considerable time and money producing this content… It would be a shame to see it go to waste.
In short, it’s presented here in the same way I usually view this stuff… which is typically on fast forward. Hopefully the faster condensed version will help others quickly get the gist of all this government information.
NOTE: The program’s hosts, Sarah Colvin and Sara Mannal, both have wonderful voices, but the point is to move through the content as quickly as possible… which is why the audio is sped up to 1.5 times faster, to as much as 2 times faster, typically faster for the male speakers… Also, some parts are run at normal speed for listening comprehension purposes.
It’s always wise to keep an eye on what’s going on inside our expansive collection of town buildings and ever-growing government bureaucracies.
You need to know this information, but you might not have the time to listen to all the chatter… today we managed to shave about 46 minutes off this content… those with more time can find the full 70 minutes of programing on the Town of Barnstable website.
[NOTE: The town council’s subcommittee on homelessness met last evening, Wednesday…]
