Vehicle into Mashpee business… second time in about 4 months [VIDEOS]
For the second time since the end of November, a vehicle crashed through the front of The Barn Grocery & Liquor Store on Route 28 in Mashpee last evening.
As you will see in the video, the damage wasn’t quite as extensive as when another vehicle drove into the building just over 4 months ago. There were no injuries in last evening’s crash, and the 33-year-old driver was not charged. No further information was available at the time of this report. The following HN videos show both crashes…

NEW: “Government on Fast Forward…”
The Town of Barnstable has two daily news programs entitled Barnstable Today and Barnstable This Morning. One program is 10 minutes, the other about an hour… both jammed-packed with our government’s own presentation of the news.
HN took two days of this programming, roughly 2 hours and 20 minutes, and condensed it down into one 15 minute video, where the dialogue is also placed on fast forward, making it easier and quicker for some viewers to get through it…
Today’s “Government on Fast Forward” highlights some interesting issues ranging from a new project designed to help residents recycle food scraps, to the chief of police talking about possible locations for the new homeless shelter.
The condensed video version may not be for everyone, some may find it difficult to follow, while others may find it just right. The slower, much longer, and more complete versions of these news shows can be found on the Town of Barnstable website…
From time to time, HN will experiment with condensing Town of Barnstable news content, presenting here as an alternative or additional option for those who would never tune into the original programming on the town’s website to begin with…
The town spends considerable time and money producing this content… It would be a shame to see it go to waste.
In short, it’s presented here in the same way I usually view this stuff… which is typically on fast forward. Hopefully the faster condensed version will help others quickly get the gist of all this government information. While others with more time may find viewing the content in normal speed more beneficial… Again, the longer versions can be found on the town’s website.
Either way, it’s always a wise to keep an eye on what’s going on inside our expansive collection of town buildings and ever-growing bureaucracies.
