Motorcyclist hurt after collision in Dennis Port… [HN VIDEO]
DENNIS PD UPDATE: On Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at approximately 9:20 pm the Dennis Police Department received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash on Route 28 in the area of Sea Street in Dennis Port. The caller reported that it appeared that someone on either a motorcycle or bicycle had been struck in front of the Original Seafood Restaurant at 527 Route 28.
On arrival officers found that a motorcycle and motor vehicle had been involved in the crash. The investigation revealed that a 2014 Honda Accord, which was being operated by a 22 year old woman from South Yarmouth south on Sea Street, entered the intersection with Route 28 and was struck by a 1991 Harley-Davidson motorcycle being operated west on Route 28 by a 55 year old man from Hyannis. The operator of the motorcycle was injured when he was thrown onto the roadway as a result of the crash and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by the Dennis Fire Department Rescue. The operator of the Honda Accord was not injured and was the sole occupant of that vehicle.
The Honda Accord sustained damage to the driver’s side, and the motorcycle sustained extensive damage. The operator of the Honda Accord was issued a motor vehicle citation for Failure to Stop. ###

INITIAL HN REPORT:
DENNIS PORT – A motorcyclist was hurt and transported to Cape Cod Hospital last evening after a collision with a vehicle in front of Original Seafood last evening.
At about 9:15 p.m., Dennis police and firefighters responded to the intersection of Route 28 and Sea Street for a report of an injured man down in the middle of the road.
The injured motorcyclist was loaded into the back of an ambulance, where he appeared to be conscious and alert. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Dennis police are investigating the cause of the crash and the following HN Video highlights the scene.
